Editor Notes

It is a call to the Hmong to stand for one voice, one community, and one day the Hmong will all be free from suffering. It doesn’t matter what
side you are on, some day, just some day the side of your allies will throw you a bitter pain of feeling in your heart. A good call is that a nation stands for its people and a leader will die for his or her nation
(people). It could have remained deep inside for the former General Vang Pao of the Royal Army. For over thirty years, Vang Pao withstand the pain that his people suffered in Laos. They were left behind in a country that once was involved in a hardship war known to be a never ending episode.
In a clear record, ten Hmong men lives were sacrificed for every American life during the Vietnam War in Laos; a war that is not know to the world in which the world does not want to recognize. Within a greater episode, this war has become a post-traumatic stress event for the Hmong people. For example, boys as young as 10 years old experienced such tragic events. More details of how this disorder affects Hmong is defined in the syndromes of mental health problems under many American Psychologists principles and theories. The one million Cambodians who died in the “killing field” launched by Pop Pot (with the Viet-Cong) impacted how many generations from the Cambodian community and their lives. Many researchers stated that the Cambodia community rated the highest in gang (crime) activities in American history. Many of them end up continuing to suffer in jail and many of them were deported back to Cambodia. It is not a doubt that post traumatic stress may have occurred. Time after time, record showed that combat war veterans faced the syndrome for a much greater complication to their life.
This is a very clear message that people who experience these kinds of
post traumatic events will never live their life cleaned. People who
experience post traumatic events and become refugees like the Cambodians, Vietnamese, Laotians, and Hmong community were diagnosed positive for this type of syndrome. The creation of such a violation continues to be for the big picture of the defined group. It has been a continued problem from parents and to children to the next generation. The continuation of the Lao government’s post strategy to poison the Hmong in the deep jungles of Laos through biological warfare and the continued execution of Hmong children in Laos could never hold free from violation of the defined group either. The Hmong community is stated in history as a nation without a country and their suffering is greater then ever before due to such negative mass media surrounding them. To name a few examples include, the 153 Hmong refugee detained in Nong Khai who faced deportation on January 30, 2007, 8,000 more Hmong refugees living in makeshift huts in northern Thailand, and the 163, 31,and 26 Hmong children who deported from Thailand into to Laos. Who knows, they could all have been executed. For sure the 21 Hmong children massacred in Vang Vieng were already reborn. The pressure within the United Stated government declared that the Patriot Act Law affects the Hmong and classifies (Hmong are terrorists), a very bad school name in Madison, Wisconsin, and a bad hunting event in Northeast Wisconsin being a continue site of the mental problem. Most of the younger generation who are now in American graduate schools and universities wonder where is the exist from this isolation community.
Professor Kaplan at the UW-Madison who made a very disturbing statement about the Hmong during a class lecture and later became a massive controversial between groups of community in America history was among the negative image of the Hmong community. The list just never has an ending on them. They are just continuing to be on the spot of guilt. Endless ending list.
No one knows the future of the Hmong community. They could end up to join with the Japanese concentration camp during Pearl Harbor time or the Jews who faced post Hitler in Germany. It sounds like many Hmong individuals support Vang Pao and donated money to his organization. With this, everyone of them may have somewhat got involved with the conspiracy among the 11 men who are now jailed. Yes, no one knows the future of them. I hope that the Hmong stand for one voice, one community, and one day they will all be free from suffering.

Dear Readers,

As we are living in a peaceful land, our family; brothers, sisters, parents, and relatives; are suffering to death back home. The pressure heats up toward a hatred to minority groups. The Hmong people has been labled as a sign to target the norm.
In the last couple of months, journalists, publications, and world news channels turn a spotlight on the story of Hmong in Laos. A forgotten alliance name "Hmong", little known to the world. As the journalists' and photo-journalists' portraits, the Hmong in the Jungle, the world pays small attention and analysis to them. Many children, women, and elderly are far beyond words to describe them as an equal human being (in suffering). Some kneel down and beg the world to listen to their suffering; many tears fall; and much boiled hearts, bitter from pain by isolation within and beyond undercover. These people are human beings and they are Hmong, the original blood called "Hmong."
Little known, 350,000 Hmong are the fortunates who escaped this jungle trap and resttled life in America. Few less thounsands, lost to Europe, Australia, and Canada. Within this couple of months, as news, information, and stories cover about the Hmong in Laos, the above Hmong exiled contributed little effort and voice to claim those who are being punished under the Laotian government regime. This is a heavy chemical poison (hatred) to the Hmong people.
With a powerless contribution to rescue these people, Neeg Magazine is urging the Hmong to send contributions to their close family and continue support through a family channel. The world is far beyond a completion circle, a small part of the world filled with Hmong spilling half of their blood. In the eyes of the Hmong, Neeg Magazine will continue to post news and information online for your family and love ones to recognize the families left behind. Neeg.org online is free to the Hmong people around this worldwide and continues to foward the news and information to your relatives on every corner, mountain, and cliff in this uncivilized community.

Best Luck to everyone

Dear Readers,
It has been a dark timeline. Nearly 30 years the Hmong people, both young and old, have come from a poor country called Laos, a revolutionary and civil war country. It’s now what many scholars called a landlocked country, centered in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmer. This landlocked is a reflection for many of the Hmong people. Left behind, remained their grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, and relatives. Most of them, still living in a primitive wave. Houses in the village built with bamboos on wall and covered with hay. Their major economic is made of human energy such as cultivation and planting corn and rice. Some circle in city life, making their living by selling small exchange goods. Leaving ahead of them, only about 300,000 of the Hmong population have found their way to some developing countries. About 169,000 resettled their new lives in America. The other half, lost to other countries such as French, Canada, Austria, Germany, and French Guyana. Some have much opportunities ahead of them. Many of them have yet to face less equal opportunity challenges ahead. In conclusion, the Hmong people haven’t yet better live their lives now, however, they are single-minded living in the dark age period. So much confusions, so many lost, and so few move on.

Today, the computer age is viewed as a vital tool for the young. The WorldWide Web is a new revolution information and technology service. Neeg Magazine

First Quarter of 2003

Dear Friends,

Thank you for taking the time to view Neeg Magazine online. We have published five editions of Neeg Magazine in 2000 formatted as a newsletter and distributed within its member subscribers. This fall of 2002, we are annovated to design this new web site online, promoting new Hmong. The new Hmong era is to promote Hmong to read and write in the Hmong language. Our decided readers are college students, under-graduate, and graduate students as well as community individuals. We hope that the journal is a deeper study about the Hmong culture, social structure, and developing a better communication in writing Hmong language. A much more credential aspect in our community is if we study more about our language in greater detail: word, definition, translation, and interpretation together. It is valueless in sole announcement.

The magazine, is therefore, design for the community and the public to respond in need of critical analysis as a whole. The magazine will publish dimensional arts, both in writing and visualization. This will make a wider understanding and easier to see. The online communication will also give a quicker, faster, and simpler indication for readers to respond. Whether, readers agree or disagree on such issues or stories that are published, they are all welcome to the new Hmong era in their own opinion, comments, and expressions in response. This publishing journal distributed online and hope to reach to the community anywhere accessible (world-wide).

As an informational center, Neeg Magazine is searching to bring you news and information of your own. We hope you will find Neeg a good resource to your needs for a continuing education. This first volume, we are fortunate to publish Dr. Lee, Garyia’s many research articles about the true Hmong in perspective. Dr. Yang, Dao recently published an article in S.E. Asia Review about Hmong made history in America (three generation) and continues to be published in Neeg Magazine online. It is an article of changing paths about the people, the arts, and information. By no means is it to offend anyone, our staff contributed stories, analysis on issues within the Hmong, and building future Hmong for much history about Hmong. We are looking forward to welcome your opinion, knowledge, and expertise to Neeg Magazine journalism. Again, thank you for reviewing our web site address.

Best luck to all.

Sincerely,

Snyu Yang
